Jack Otremba
Born 3-11-08, 1 pound 1 oz, He has been through a lot but he is thriving. He turns 7 weeks tomorrow and yesterday he weighed 2lbs 6 oz.

Jesse Chase
I am Gramma to a sweet little angel, Jesse Chase, born April 20, 2008. We lost his twin but this little guy is such a fighter. Please pray that he will have the strength to grow big and strong and come home to his Mom and Dad. He had a PDA and has had surgery for a preforation in his intestine. As of today April 27, 2008 he is critical but still fighting. He needs lots of prayers and love

Elijah James
My grandson is expected next week, Elijah James. He is estimated to weigh 1lb, 3oz. He is due on July 17, but is not expected to survive much longer in the womb. Please pray for him. With the circulation he has, brain bleeds are expected. This is my daughter Katies first child and she feels such love for him already. Please pray for both of them.

Makena Kimani
Our baby girl Makena Kimani was born at 25 weeks with a weight of 1lbs 9 oz on 03/12/08. She has had 2 surgeries for PDA. The first surgery was stopped after the surgeons found her heart formation to be opposite from normal so they had to repeat it through her breast bone. She also has had a colostomy due to an intestine blockage and hole. Currently she is having she has 2 chest tubes for leaking lungs. Please pray for my daughter. To all families out there, do not be scared, God will definitely see us through this roller coaster time, remember you are not alone. My advice in addition to lots of praying, get preemie books to read. I am reading one, which made my heart at ease. I now do not flinch at those beeping monitors and i now understand what the doctors are telling me and the queer terms they use. Stay positive, speak to your babies and touch them, let them know mummy is there. Kagwiria Kimani (mum)

Conner Riley Owens
April 8, 2008 2Lbs. 10.5ozs. Conner was 11 weeks early and had to be born by emergency c-section. He is doing much much better. He is our little hero. Please keep him in your prayers.

Autumn Angel
March 5, 2008 1lb 3oz 26 weeks gestation "God we ask this little angel to be blessed." Autumn has been through so much in such a short amount of time. She has already been through multiple surgeries for her heart, lungs, and now her intestines. She has yet to have her eyes uncovered or opened, has never been held only turned since the day she was born, but she carries a lot of love. She is a fighter.

Savannah Lyons
Born 5 weeks early, She has overcome some feeding problems but is otherwise doing great. Building up her immune system after being born with several infections. Growing in weight from many prayers. Now at one month old weighing in at 4 lbs 13 oz. We as her parents wish to extend or prayers to every family member and every blessed preemie angel out there.

Margaret (Maggie)Kathryne - UPDATE
3.5 lbs, born 10 weeks early, Maggie is my granddaughter. Her parents are Shana and Dave from Shawnee, Kansas. Thank you for your prayers. Maggie has been improving daily. She is being weaned off of the incubator so she can now wear her new clothes! She still needs caffeine to prevent apnea spells but she has been promoted to the title of "feeder/grower" and she has become very active. God is good! Our prayers are with all the preemies and their families!

Maggie is up to 3# 15oz (almost 4lbs!). She is getting 30mls (1 oz) every 3 hours in her feeding tube. She is still having her apnea episodes, but I think she’s still on the caffeine. She mostly comes out of them on her own and they usually happen when she’s sleeping. She is becoming more active and as you can see has a new wardrobe. Thank you for your continued prayer support! Quia Goodwin
born Feb 14th 15 weeks early at just 24wks 5dys of gestation weighing 1lb 3oz. now 8 weeks old she weighs 3lb 4oz. Quia has overcome many obstacles. She has had a grade 4 brain bleed that didn't happen till one month of age. We don't know how that's going to effect her when she older.She has had intestinal problems and hopefully on 4/15 she will have her last surgery. She has just begun getting tube feedings. Please pray for our ladybug.

Aiden Britt Keegan UPDATE
he is now 3 lbs 8 ozs and today had his first bottle. From birth he was 1 lb 71/2 ozs . That was Jan. 30, 2008 and today April 8, 2008, he has come a long way and God willing will be home with his parents soon. My prayers are with him , all the preemies and especially for the families of these small little miracles that God has blessed us with.

Margaret (Maggie)Kathryne Stelzer
3.5 lbs, born 10 weeks early, Maggie is my granddaughter. Her parents are Shana and Dave Stelzer from Shawnee, Kansas. Maggie has had her ups and downs. She was moved to Children's Mercy from Shawnee Mission Medical Center on Friday, 4 April because she is having some breathing problems and they couldn't keep her from breathing from stopping. She is back on the CPAP and oxygen and doing better. Thank you for your prayers.

Beckett William UPDATE
Well, all, Beckett William is ready to join us at home after a nearly 8 week stay! I will email you all some "welcome home" photos once I have them together. As of today, though, the doctors said he could be home as early as tomorrow! He will need a monitor, so Nick and I need to take training classes. Those are tentatively scheduled for tomorrow. Once we have completed monitor training and CPR class, we get to take him out the door! How exciting!! Anyway, I am so happy to share our news.

Letter from a Preemie Mom
Dear Pat, My name's Samantha Tessneer and I recently visited your site looking for clothes for older preemies and saw the prayer request page. I wanted to write to give the parents of these little ones a word of hope or encouragement but wasn't sure exactly where to put it at so I decided to e-mail you instead. I have a 16 month old son, Tyler, who was born on Oct. 29 2006 at 28 wks, he weighed 2 lbs 6 oz at the time of birth. He was early due to myself having toxemia/preeclampsia and was taken by emergency c-sect. When he was just 2 days old on Oct 31/Nov 1 at 4 that morning they had to insert chest tubes to relieve pressure he had on his heart because he had small pin holes in his lungs allowing fluid to seep out and the fluid and air was pushing his heart to the left of his chest. He was about to come off the ventilator at this time but instead ended up staying on it for another wk and the chest tubes also stayed in for a wk. He also had yellow jondice and was placed under the belly ribbon light for almost a month. He was in the hospital for 2 months exactly and had to have 3 diff blood transfusions while there. Tyler's release date was pushed back three diff times because before coming home he started having seizures and they couldn't get him to give up the oxygen completely. He finally got to come home on Dec 29 2006. He came home on oxygen, a heart monitor and seizure medicine and three wks after getting him home we had to take him back to the hospital because he had hernia's on both sides of his lower abdomen near his private parts. However after all this about a month or less after getting him home he was completely off the oxygen and the seizure med and hasn't had any probs since which is the reason i'm writing this e-mail. I want the parents of those beautiful little miracles to know that as long as you never give up and stay by your children everything will turn out alright. My beautiful miracle is now 16, almost 17, months old and weighs a little over 22 lbs now. He's starting to walk and h! is talki ng is getting better and he's healthy as a horse. You never would know he was 3 month early now unless told. I'm attaching a picture to show you how big he is and hopefully if you can show the picture and the story with the parents of other angels waiting now for God's touch it'll give them hope. was born April 2, 2008 at 25 weeks, weighing 600 grams (1.3 lbs). He is 3 days old now and has had no complications thus far.

was born on April 3, 2008 at 4lbs 1oz. He arrived 7 weeks early and was due on May 19. He's in the NICU and being fed by the feeding tube, he's breathing on his own which is excellent, but we are still praying that each day he grows stronger.

Makyala Shurrell
was born March 9, 2008, weighing 1 lb 3 oz. She has a brain bleed on both sides of her brain (grade 3 on one side & grade 4 on the other). Please pray for my daughter and strenghth for my family as I will do the same for yours. This is a straining and turbulent journey, but each day is a blessing. Put your worries in GOD's hands.

born 12/24/07 at 1 lb 14 oz is now home with her parents. She now weighs 5lb 13 oz. She came home from hospital with a heart monitor as a precaution. Thank You all for your prayers. We continue to pray for these tiny miracles.

Please pray for Sophia and Serena Columna. They were born Feb. 22, and their due date was May 12. Sophia was 2lbs 3.4 oz, Serena was 2lbs, 4oz. Serena now weighs 3lbs and Sophia is 2lbs 10oz. Please especially pray for Sophia, for she has been battling with a staph infection for about two weeks now. She is very sick and has been on a lot of oxygen.

My husband and I became proud parents of a little boy recently. On March 14th 2008 @ 5:12PM baby Dominic Hart was born @ 27 weeks and 2Lbs of tiny little miracle. He celebrates his one week birthday this evening...He is doing amazing although yesterday we found out he suffers from brain bleed...we are still waiting for results as to how much if any damage has occured and what the hospital can and will do about it...Please pray for our bundle of Joy. His Big sister got to meet him for the first time, she was confused as to why she couldn't hold him or take him home so Mommy explained he was born a little early, he is a little small so he needs to live in his special bed at the hospital until he gets big and strong to come home. She accepted my explanation and made him a get well card for his birthday... I pray for any parent going through what my husband and I are. Born October 22, 2007 due date January 10th 2008 jayla was 1lb 12.2oz,she was born early due to major complications I had, such as a 95% stroke and seizure probability during my pregnancy and severe Pre-eclampsia. she spent 68days in the NICU, FIGHTING for her life. she had RDS,no sucking motion until the 60th day in the nicu, severe kidney disease, where her urine goes back into her kidneys every time she urinates (still a problem today), low heart beat, high blood pressure,severe almost fatal infection in her breathing tube and was not gaining weight for the first month despite being fed every hour.she was intubated immediately after birth, but the oxygen was not going to her lungs at one point because they were not inflating due to severe blockage, the doctors called an emergency meeting to tell my husband and I that even with surgery she would have a slim chance of survival maybe another week if that.well, the LORD had the last Say and she survived thanks to his grace and she remained intubated until Dec. 27th,'07. then she went to cpap for three days and miraculously went to breath on her own.she finally came home January 3, 2008 at a whopping 4lbs.5oz she now is 8lbs (3.14.08) THANK YOU FOR YOUR PRAYERS. Connor James Steven Hill
born on March 2, 2008. He was 10 weeks early. He weighed 2.9 pounds and was 14 inches long. Connor had IUGR caused by a notching of my uterian arteries which slowed the blood flow he needed to grow properly. Connor is in the NICU for 8 to 12 weeks. My little man is a great fighter. He is putting on weight, his first brain ultrasound revealed NO bleeding and he is able to breathe room air with the assistance of the CPAP. We are at the hospital every day to visit and hold him. I count to days for him to come home and be with his family!

our little boy! He was born at 30 weeks and will be in the hospital two more months. He weighs 4 lbs. The report came back of down syndrome and we need your prayers.

Mia Ariel and Alexa Megan
born via emergency c-section at 31 weeks and 1 day on February 26 because I developed severe pre-eclampcia. They were at 3 lb 7 oz and 2 lb 11 oz respectively. Mia had a heard problem which was fixed without medication. Both girls spent some time on oxygen but now both of them are breathing on their own. Alexa has grade I brain hemorrhage on the left side but the doctors say it is not serious. Please pray for my girls!

Addison Hope Hawley
2.22 lbs born February 19, 2008, 3 months premature, only 3 days old when the feeding tube perforated her tummy, had to have surgery which she bounced back from, she did cry when they got her out of mom, she is truly God’s child, a miracle, she is on a ventilator, a lion-heart fighter, she definitely has the will to live. All thoughts and prayers are always appreciated. Thanks a million for your help with preemies, this is our first ever experience with this, and it is an emotional roller-coaster from day to day existence. This mamaw thanks you from the bottom of my heart.

Joseph and Benjamin
born Feb 29, 2008 at 2 lbs 10 oz and 2 lbs 8 oz, 29 weeks of age. My daughter had successful treatment (laser surgery) for Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome which saved her pregnancy long enough for her to give birth to these beautiful live baby boys. Please continue to pray for them, especially Joseph who has had to be on a ventilator.

Ayden Allen Mundy
Ayden weighed 1 lb. 13 oz. and is 13 1/4 inches long. He was born 3 1/2 months premature. Our little guy has many problems including brain bleeds, being on a ventilator, 100% oxygen and very sick lungs. He opened his eyes for the first time on February 23rd and it was truly amazing. He is a fighter and all your thoughts and prayers would be greatly appreciated.

Connor Loki Gay
My water ruptured at 25weeks gestation and the hospital admitted me and managed to keep Connor in my stomach for 3 more weeks. I had to go in for emergency CSection when they discovered I was contracting and his cord would be coming out first. My complications were very minimal, and I have healed quickly and easily. This is Connor Loki Gay born on January 24, 2008, exactly 12 weeks early...28 weeks gestation. He was 2lbs 12oz and 15" long. He is now off of the ventilator and has overcome a heart murmur. He is still having trouble maintaining his own body temperature. He is now 3lbs 10.6oz as of 2-17-2008 and is on a oxygen flow rate of 2.0 with anywhere from 29% to 49%oxygen.

Jaxson Ray
Jaxson has shown no signs of any serious problems. His ultra sounds have came back good, along with all other test. His levels are still a little off... but they cant find a single thing wrong with him. They are chalking it up to the stress of being a Preemie. He has a feeding tube, and despite reflux, is managing to get nutrition. His frail 1 lbs stature... is now 1 lbs and 8 oz of preemie power! It has only been 3 weeks. Time has flown by so fast I can hardly believe it. But he fights hard every day and makes mom and dad so proud! I am certain that all the prayers sent his way... are truly helping him. I wanted everyone to know.. Thank You! (He is on CPAP now... no more breathing tube!!)

Hannah Grace
5 lbs 1 oz, Hannah was born 5 weeks early with a coition called gastroskiesis (Intestines outside of the body) She has had two surgeries and will have to wear a colostomy bag until she grows enough for doctors to reconnect her intestines. She has not been able to keep down any milk. Please pray for her. She will remain in NICU for another 2 months. Hannah's mom Heather really needs your prayers for strength also. Thanks and God Bless

Update on Sophia Ann - After 71 days in the NICU she is home!!!! She is now 4lbs 7oz...she is a miracle of God. She does have oxygen and monitors but with time hopefully she will not need them...and if she does I'll just get a bigger diaper bag to carry everything:) Keep praying and telling your babies to fight!!!

Update on Darrell and Nadia
born 16 wks early. Nadia is 2lbs 10oz, has had 2 abdominal surgeries resulting in a colostomy, she has PDA and is on meds for that, she is now on a cpap instead of a vent. Darrell is 2lbs 8oz, they tried the cpap on him and he did okay for 2hrs but they didn't want to push it any further than that, he has some lung trouble and gets treatment for that. Through prayer, they are fighting their way to their homecoming in April. We are so proud of how much they have gone through and will until they get to come home with their parents.

Beckett William Noll
born Feb 2, 2008 after scary emergency c-section with mom hemorrhaging and both lives in danger at 29 weeks. Please pray for my little baby, and for his older brother and sister who will not be able to meet him until his homecoming, as well as for my husband because he has been a pillar of strength during my six weeks of hospitalization prior to Beckett's arrival, my week of surgical recovery, and has supported my staying closer to the hospital and not home with him and the kids because the baby is in a NICU over an hour and a half away. I would ask for prayers for me but I am still alive, my baby is alive, and I now have not only an amazing husband, but three beautiful, perfect children -- my prayers were answered.

Please keep baby Jake in your prayers. He was born on February 12, 2008 at only 29 weeks. Jake is 1 lb 12 oz 12 in. He is crying alot and as of now he is breathing on his own and doing great. Please pray that Jake continues to be a fighter and recovers from this without complication. and also for a speedy recovery for Kellie and strength for Jason & Kellie through out this process.

born Dec. 14, 2007 weighing 10 oz. and measuring 8 inches in length. She is currently 1140 grams (2 lbs. ? oz.) but about 1 lb. is due to severe edema. She is now 8 wks 1 day old. Please keep her in your prayers as she is fighting a major battle.

Ethan James
born weighing 1lb 11 oz. He has been losing weight, and is now down to 1lb 8 oz. Please keep him in your prayers as well as all of the other babies in the NICU.

Thomas James
born at 5:45pm on Febuary 12 th. His weight is unknown. He was at 25.5 weeks gestation. Please pray for him and his family.
Update - weight was 1lb 9 oz, 12.5 in long. He is staying strong and is only on 21% oxygen. Please pray for him and his family.

Luciana
She was born December 1 at 23 weeks weighing 1lb 3oz. She has had setbacks including PDA surgery, head bleeds, infection and chronic lung disease. Her due date is March 26th. We are hoping she will come home by May. Her twin sister passed away Dec. 12 and is our angel watching over her sister.

Michael John, Konrad Thomas, and Zachary Edward
born on January 31st at 30 weeks. We are so proud of them as they continue to thrive in the NICU and we pray that they will continue to grow and do well and come home soon safe and sound.

born on December 21, 2007 at 30 weeks. She weighed 2 pounds 5 oz and 14 inches long. She has been fighting her way through this and we are too. She already weighs 3 pounds 5 oz and is doing well. Please keep Meredith in your prayers as I will your children in mine. Thank you

born at 24 weeks, 2 days into my pregnancy. There is no explanation for my going into premature labor. A week before she was born they discovered I was 1 cm dilated.She was born. On December 10th, 2007 at 5:23pm. She was 1 lb, 5 ozs at birth and was 12 inches long. She is now almost 2 months old, weighs 2 lbs, 10 ozs, and is 14 and a quarter inches long. :) She is making sure and steady progress. She is on CPAP right now and her settings are getting lowered every day. I know she is a miracle baby. They told me there was no hope for her to live, and I decided before I delivered not to resucitate. But she kept on living, 3 hours after her birth, with no help from the doctors at all, she was still living - breathing on her own, crying, and she had good color. The only thing wrong was that she was cold. So they came in and asked me if I wanted her to be taken to the NICU, and I said "of course!", of course. :) She is there still, and will be there for awhile yet, but I am so beyond happy that she is doing so well. Please pray for her, though. She still has a long road to travel. Thank you so much!

Born October 25th.2007..due Jan. 4th 2008 ...he was 10 1/2 weeks early ...weighed 2 lbs 11 oz and 16 3/4 inches long...we spent 10 weeks in the NICU...The only advice I for preemie parents is to stay strong for your little one....and its okay to cry ...being in the NICU is one of the worst roller- coaster rides my husband and I have ever been on...but here is light at the end of the tunnel...though it seems so far away ...After 10 weeks of IV's, oxygen, PDA surgery (at 3lbs), and those constant alarms.(which I heard in my sleep)..he came home on Jan. 03 and is growing like a champ now up to 8 lbs...Families of preemies are in my prayers and continue to keep your head up.

I would like to advise all families that are going through the NICU experirence with there preemie to please Pray! My son Shawn Robinson was born at 27 weeks at 2lbs 1oz born August 28, 2007 due November 21, 2007. He stayed in NICU for 21/2 months before coming home. I visitied withmy son everyday letting him know I was there and fighting with him. What brought my son home was Prayers and Love. my son is now up to 10lbs and making strides. I'm hoping this will help anyone going thru a tough time right now. I had my little girl at 26 weeks, she weighed in at 1 pound and 2 ounces. She had a rough 3 month stay in the hospital. We had infection after infection, 4 blood transfusions and 1 platelet. A lot for a little peanut to undergo. That was November of 2004, Now she is just a very happy go lucky 3 year old. Other then being on the smaller size she is wonderful.. she knows her numbers and all of the alphabet. I am so proud of her and so dearly in love with her. Now Im pregnant with my 2nd child and there is a 60% chance of having this one early. You can never truly be prepared for this but God will watch out for each and everyone of us. Jennifer

Here is an update on Darrell and Nadia, born 16 wks early. Nadia is 2lbs 10oz, has had 2 abdominal surgeries resulting in a colostomy, she has PDA and is on meds for that, she is now on a cpap instead of a vent. Darrell is 2lbs 8oz, they tried the cpap on him and he did okay for 2hrs but they didn't want to push it any further than that, he has some lung trouble and gets treatment for that. Through prayer, they are fighting their way to their homecoming in April. We are so proud of how much they have gone through and will until they get to come home with their parents.
